DE EVERT BRAK FILOSOFIE

After 6 years of hard work and also another year for the cover we finished the first cd of
DE EVERT BRAK FILOSOFIE. (The Evert Brak Philosophy).
And we are proud of it. We started the distribution among family and friends, and now we have to widen our horizon since we are stuck with too many copies and that is a waste.

The cd is the result of the cooperation of a mime player and a soundengineer. These two people are Jaap Oostra and Fokke van Saane. We experimented with covers from the Beatles and the Stones, Madonna and Michael Jackson and found a point of view never heard before on any other cd. And you haven't either. We used a lot of toy-instruments, we used vacuum cleaners, we used pigs, and also a real guitar. The Evert Brak philosophy is that we treat musicians like actors, and not as performers. We tell eachother what role to play, instead of what to play. We prefer the embarresment of loud singing out of tune under the shower above a qualified singer in bath. The Evert Brak Philosophy is theatre on cd. No music to dance on, no synths, you'll hear real people as people are. Unforeseen changes from completely mad stupidity to breathtaking touching.

We produced the cd all by ourselves, did the artwork ourselves, and have not the slightest intension that we will ever equal the cost let alone the time we've spend on it. But we do want you to buy it since we think it is worthwhile for anyone who has an open mind for a differend kind of music.
